- As a rule of thumb, stand for 10 minutes, 4-5 times a day to increase metabolism, re-energize fatigued muscles, and take pressure off your lower back.
- The best position is the next position. Vary your posture regularly, alternating between sitting and standing throughout the day.
- Impromptu meetings. Instead of pulling up a chair for unscheduled drop-bys, why not adjust your desk into a standing position when your visitor arrives. In addition to taking a break from sitting, research shows that standing meetings get wrapped up more quickly than sitting ones.
- Start your day standing. Before you leave for the day, raise your desk into standing position ready for a fresh start.
